About Me

Hello, and thanks for visiting my small corner of the interwebs!

The changes that are taking place in the world of communications are vast and white hot. I created this space to have an opportunity to share and learn from fellow communications professionals and to have a hub where I would be "forced" to spend some time every day focusing on what’s new or on what I am working on. This is one way for me to share what I have learnt both in and out of my cubicle, and to interact with real people across the field of communications, across the world.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication, I have spent almost a decade hiking up the paths of public relations and communications in Trinidad and Tobago. I recently returned from London, after a year of exploration while pursuing a Master’s degree in Corporate Communications. The field is fresh, loaded with ideas, immense potential and it’s an exciting time. I’ve worked in both the private and public sectors across fields as diverse as health, education, finance and energy, each with their own challenges and opportunities. I am fascinated by social media and the way in which it has flipped the script in terms of who is messenger and receiver of information.

Coffee? I often say (99% of the time at my grumpiest), “don’t talk to me in the morning until I have had my cup of coffee” and I also spend a lot of time and do some of my best thinking, writing and engagement in coffee shops! The two just seem to be a tried and tested, and successful couple!

I am glad you are here and look forward to your own thoughts and experiences.
